— Meet the Maker

Hello, I'm Jason.

I started JW Upholstery because the furniture I loved most was the furniture nobody else wanted to bother with — old chairs with good bones, sofas that had been in the family for thirty years, headboards that didn't quite fit any standard size.

The work is done by hand, one piece at a time, in a small workshop here in Tallahassee. I don't run a production line. I don't outsource. Every chair that goes out the door has been touched only by me — stripped, rebuilt, sewn, fitted, and sat in before it leaves.

If you've got a piece worth saving, I'd love to hear about it.

— What we believe

Three quiet rules.

i.

Hand-made.

No production line, no rushed work. Every stitch, tuft, and welt is done by hand, the way it's been done for generations.

ii.

Honest quotes.

You'll get a written estimate before any work starts, and we won't go past it without talking to you first. No surprises.

iii.

Built to last.

We use traditional methods because they outlast the modern shortcuts. Your piece should be good for another generation.

We're a small shop, by appointment.

The workshop isn't a showroom — it's a working space full of fabric, frames, and projects in progress. We're happy to have you stop by to look at your piece, browse fabric samples, or just see the work. Just give us a call first.
